With the high number of injuries we have suffered throughout the season and the low number of remaining active players, coupled with our youth, it is not in the best interest of our remaining players to play our last scheduled game. With player safety at the forefront, our inability to substitute players in and out of the game as necessary to provide the needed rest, the chance for additional injuries will increase exponentially. We simply cannot place our student-athletes in this unsafe situation.
The decision to not play our last football game of the season is not taken lightly however, I will assure you, that the health and safety of our student-athletes will always be our first and top priority.
I appreciate the time and work invested into the season by our coaches, players, parents and community supporters and I look forward to brighter days ahead.
