Mr. Searcy

I am excited to be joining East Rutherford High as your new Assistant Principal!  I am from the Sunny View Community just outside of Lake Lure in Polk County and live there with my wonderful wife, Grace.  I am a proud alumnus of both Mars Hill University and the graduate program at Gardner-Webb University.  I began my career in education working at Polk County High School as a social studies teacher and football coach.  I worked in that position from 2014 until the Spring of 2021 and enjoyed my time there immensely. I credit a great deal of my growth as a professional to some wise mentors and passionate coworkers who were very kind to a young teacher trying to find his way.  In the Summer of 2021, I was approached about an opportunity to work at Asheville High School and take a step out of my comfort zone to find what really drove me in this profession. My time at Asheville was a huge blessing and allowed me to work with some great students, teachers, and coaches. I am now thrilled to be able to accept this opportunity to serve the needs of both the students and faculty here at East Rutherford High School.
