The English Department teachers here at ERHS are proud to say that we are committed to helping all students grow in reading comprehension, writing development, and communication skills in an effort to lead them toward success beyond high school as they become adults in the workforce, military, and college.  With technology integration, we are able to share with students a wide variety of literary and informational texts as well as help them learn to use technology to generate, collaborate on, and share work.

In addition to regular courses in English I, II, III, and IV, we offer Honors level courses in English I-IV as well as AP Language and AP Literature courses.  To strengthen students in writing, we also offer an Honors Composition course.  In addition, for those interested, we have an RCS colleague who travels here each day to teach Speech and Debate.

We recognize students have a variety of academic needs, and we are proud Cavalier teachers who are ready to challenge and guide our students to surpass even their own expectations.
