Early Childhood I
ECE I  Syllabus

This course provides advanced experiences in working with children from infancy to age eight in early education and child care settings.  Areas of study include program planning and management, developmentally appropriate practice, procedures and strategies for working with special groups of children, and career development and professionalism.  An internship comprises 50 percent of instructional time for this two-credit course.

*Class Rules:
 Be in your assigned seat when the bell rings...not just in the room!
 Tests, quizzes, and all assignments must be made up within 3 days of your return to school.  Check the calendar on the back of the door to see what you missed.  Most assignments and notes will be posted on Angel.
 Respect all students, the teacher, the classroom, and equipment. BE NICE!
You will be assigned a VOCATS notebook to use in the classroom only.  It must stay in the classroom at all times, and cannot be written in.
Cell phones are not to be out during class. 
No food or drink in class.
No profanity.
(You will receive more information regarding rules for on-site experiences.)

I am excited about this newly revised course, and I hope you gain the foundation needed to become a successful early childhood educator.  I look forward to watching your love and enthusiasm for children grow as you become involved in their educational process.
